Technical Benefits

Web Services GENius offers customisable Web Service definitions, which means you expose only the necessary interface components you choose, named in a way that is meaningful to your web and mobile application development teams. Data items from CA Gen modules can be exposed and renamed in the Web Service definition, or they can be hidden, defaulted, or populated according to rules and values you define.

The simple, intuitive user interface allows you to manage all your web services across all the models in your encyclopedia. For example, by selecting the Site name, the site properties are shown, so that they can be configured

System Requirements

Software installation

  • Windows Vista and above, Windows Server 2003 and above
  • ODBC connectivity to the CA Gen Encyclopedia database
  • TCP/IP
  • Client - 100MB disk space & .NET Framework 3.5 or above, Java JRE 6 or above
  • Server - 150MB + cache disk space (typically 500Mb)

Encyclopedia database

  • Client Server Encyclopedia : All currently supported Oracle and SQL Server versions by CA Gen
  • Host Encyclopedia : Suitable DB2 ODBC driver software (e.g. DB2 Connect)

CA Gen compatibility

Compatible with all currently supported versions of CA Gen including release 8.6; support for some back- releases is available – please contact us for details on this.
